About Hari Hasanah

Hari Hasanah is a day where Khazanah, together with Yayasan Hasanah, Yayasan Khazanah, Khazanah Research Institute, Think City, our network of partners and our staff contribute their time and effort to do good deeds for the benefit of others. It’s held annually between Hari Kebangsaan and Hari Malaysia.

We welcome you to do your own act of kindness on Hari Hasanah this September. As long as it comes from the heart, even a simple act can go a long way.

Last year, the inaugural Hari Hasanah was held on 3 September 2017. More than 300 initiatives were organized by over 90 partners and individuals across the country, impacting more that 20,000 people. You can find out more about the initiatives last year in the here section.

In the years to come, we hope Hari Hasanah will become a movement where Malaysians come together and do good for the benefit of others, and in the process, help to foster togetherness and promote unity in our multi-cultural, multi-ethnic society. Kindness can be a powerful force.

As the saying goes, charity begins at home, so we start with ourselves.

Here’s how you can do your part

Your Hari Hasanah initiative can be done individually or in a group, together with colleagues, or family and friends, wherever you are on that day. It is about allocating time, resources, and effort in doing something beneficial for the community.

It can be something simple such as helping out at a soup kitchen for the homeless or spending the day with the elderly at an old folk’s home.

You could also organise larger-scale initiatives such as a gotong-royong in your neighbourhood or repairing the facilities at an orphanage. It’s all up to you. Think of what you can and want to do for the benefit of others, be the individuals around you, your neighbourhood, or groups and communities elsewhere.
